AdBlue Solutions · Chester
AdBlue and SCR fault finding in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Deeside and the villages.
An AdBlue fault usually announces itself with a countdown of miles before the vehicle will not restart, which turns a warning light into a deadline. We come to you around Chester, read the SCR system properly and tell you where you actually stand.
There is a lot of commercial traffic around this part of Cheshire, between Ellesmere Port, Deeside Industrial Park and everything moving along the A55 and the M53. Vans and pickups covering serious annual mileage use their SCR systems far harder than a car doing a short commute, and things that wear out get to that point sooner. High mileage motorway diesels tend to arrive at the same faults for the same reason. If your vehicle is a work vehicle or does big miles, mention it, because it sensibly changes the order we check things in.
We cover Chester and the surrounding villages, Ellesmere Port, Helsby, Frodsham, Runcorn, and across the border to Deeside, Queensferry and Connahs Quay. See our areas we cover page for the full list or get in touch to confirm we can reach you.
Diesels with AdBlue use a urea based fluid dosed into the exhaust to cut NOx, and faults come from several places: the fluid level or its quality, the level and quality sensors, the dosing injector, the NOx sensors, the pump, or the heater circuit that stops the fluid freezing in winter. Those look nearly identical from the driving seat and are not remotely the same job underneath. We diagnose with dealer level equipment first and tell you honestly what the options are.
If the dash is showing a number of miles until it will not restart, that is the first thing we want to know, along with what the vehicle is. A restart countdown is a different job to a general SCR warning and it needs treating as such. It also matters whether it started right after a top up, because contaminated fluid, a quality sensor doing its job and a genuine hardware fault look similar from the driving seat and are not the same thing at all underneath.

Tell us the number showing and what the vehicle is when you get in touch. A countdown puts the job in a different category to a general warning and we would rather know that at the point you contact us.
Several possibilities. The quality sensor may have judged the fluid, the tank may have picked up contamination, the level sensor itself may have failed, or the fault may need clearing after a genuine top up. Reading the system tells us which, and guessing tends to be expensive.
Yes, both are part of our normal coverage from Chester, along with Queensferry, Connahs Quay, Helsby, Frodsham and Runcorn.
It appears when the system detects a fault or a low fluid level, and it tells you how many miles remain before the vehicle will refuse to restart. It is a legal emissions requirement rather than the manufacturer being awkward. Deal with it while the number is still large.
A range of diesels with SCR systems, including Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Ford and others. Contact us with the make, model and year and we will tell you before travelling whether it is something we can help with.
If an AdBlue warning or a restart countdown has appeared, get in touch and tell us the mileage showing.
