Stage 1 Remap · Wrexham
Mobile Stage 1 remapping in Wrexham, the Industrial Estate and the villages around the town.
Real data. No commitment.
Wrexham is where we are based, so it is the area we get to quickest and the one we know best. We remap on driveways in the town, at units on the Industrial Estate and out in the villages, and we do not need you to drop the car anywhere.
Two kinds of driving dominate around here and they pull in different directions. There is the A483 run, north to Chester or south towards Oswestry, which is steady dual carriageway where the gain you feel is in the mid range, pulling out of the junctions and holding a gear on a slip road without dropping down. Then there is everything west of town, where the ground climbs towards Coedpoeth, Brymbo and Minera. On those roads the extra torque low down is the part people notice, especially anyone towing or running a loaded van.
From Wrexham we cover the town and the Industrial Estate, Rhostyllen, Ruabon, Chirk, Gresford, Llay, Marchwiel, Coedpoeth and Brymbo, then out across Flintshire to Mold, Buckley, Flint and Connahs Quay. Chirk and Ruabon put us close to the Shropshire border, so Oswestry and Ellesmere are straightforward too. See our areas we cover page for the full list or get in touch to confirm we can reach you.
A Stage 1 remap adjusts the engine's ECU calibration, meaning fuelling, boost and ignition timing, to use the headroom the engine already has. No hardware changes are needed. We write a custom map for your specific vehicle from your original ECU data rather than loading a generic off the shelf file, and we run a free health check before any tuning to make sure the car is in a fit state to take it.
Wrexham Industrial Estate is one of the largest in Europe and it puts a lot of working vehicles on the roads around Bryn Lane, Ash Road and the A534. Transits, Sprinters, Transporters and pickups spend their week doing short runs between units, then a long motorway leg when a delivery goes further afield. That mix is worth mentioning before a remap, because a van that is loaded most of the time behaves differently to the same van empty, and the map should be written with the way you actually use it in mind. If your vehicle is a work vehicle, say so when you get in touch.
Most Stage 1 remap visits take around 1 to 2 hours from arrival to road test. As a general guide:
Actual results depend on your specific vehicle, engine condition and hardware. We will give you an honest estimate before any work begins, including telling you when we think the answer is no.
As well as Stage 1 remapping we also offer vehicle diagnostics in Wrexham, DPF and EGR solutions in Wrexham, and AdBlue solutions in Wrexham. If you have more than one issue — for example a fault light plus a desire for a remap — we can often address both in one visit.

Wrexham is our home patch, so it is the shortest journey we make. Town, the Industrial Estate and the nearby villages are all straightforward. Get in touch and we will tell you honestly what we can do and when.
Yes, provided there is somewhere safe to park it and we can run the engine and road test afterwards. Working on site suits a lot of people better than losing a vehicle for half a day, and the estate is easy for us to reach.
Towing on climbing roads is one of the clearer cases for it, because what helps there is torque low in the rev range rather than peak power. That said, it depends on the engine and its condition, so we check the vehicle first and tell you if we do not think you would feel the difference.
A Stage 1 remap is a software only adjustment to the engine control unit. No hardware changes are needed. We adjust fuelling, boost and ignition to improve power, torque and drivability within safe limits.
When done properly, with a health check beforehand and sensible targets, Stage 1 remapping is safe on a healthy engine. We only proceed if the vehicle passes our checks, and we will tell you if it does not.
