AdBlue Solutions · the Wirral
AdBlue and SCR fault finding across the Wirral, at your home or your yard.
AdBlue faults come with a deadline attached. Once the vehicle starts counting down the miles to a no restart, it stops being something to deal with next week. We come to you across the Wirral and read the SCR system properly.
Selective catalytic reduction needs heat to work, in the same way a particulate filter does. On the short stop start runs that dominate the peninsula, the system spends a lot of its life below the temperature it was designed around, and problems that would take years to appear on a motorway vehicle turn up sooner. Crystallisation around the injector is the classic one, because the fluid is being dosed into an exhaust that is not hot enough to deal with it cleanly. That is a genuine mechanical issue rather than a sensor reading wrongly.
We cover Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall, West Kirby, Hoylake, Bebington, Bromborough, Neston, Eastham and New Brighton, and travel to Ellesmere Port and Chester. See our areas we cover page for the full list or get in touch to confirm we can reach you.
Diesels with AdBlue use a urea based fluid dosed into the exhaust to cut NOx, and faults come from several places: the fluid level or its quality, the level and quality sensors, the dosing injector, the NOx sensors, the pump, or the heater circuit that stops the fluid freezing in winter. Those look nearly identical from the driving seat and are not remotely the same job underneath. We diagnose with dealer level equipment first and tell you honestly what the options are.
There is a lot of commercial traffic on this side of the peninsula, and vans are where AdBlue problems bite hardest, because the vehicle earning is the vehicle that cannot be off the road. If yours is a work vehicle, tell us that and tell us what the dash is showing, including any countdown. It genuinely changes how we prioritise and what we bring with us.

Tell us the mileage showing and what the vehicle is when you get in touch. A restart countdown is a different job to a general SCR light and it needs treating that way.
Usually because the exhaust is not getting hot enough for long enough, which short journeys cause. The fluid is dosed into the exhaust and needs heat to work cleanly. It is a mechanical problem rather than a sensor fault, and reading the system tells us whether that is what you have.
It happens a lot. It can be the quality sensor rejecting the fluid, contamination in the tank, a failed level sensor, or a fault that needs clearing after a genuine top up. Those need different answers, so it is worth reading rather than guessing.
It appears when the system detects a fault or a low fluid level, and it tells you how many miles remain before the vehicle will refuse to restart. It is a legal emissions requirement rather than the manufacturer being awkward. Deal with it while the number is still large.
A range of diesels with SCR systems, including Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Ford and others. Contact us with the make, model and year and we will tell you before travelling whether it is something we can help with.
If an AdBlue warning or countdown has appeared on your vehicle anywhere on the Wirral, get in touch and tell us the mileage showing.
