Vehicle Diagnostics · the Wirral
Dealer level diagnostics across Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall, West Kirby and Bebington.
We bring dealer level diagnostic equipment to you anywhere on the Wirral, read the vehicle across all its modules, and tell you what it is genuinely reporting rather than what a generic code description says it might be.
On the coastal side of the peninsula, out at West Kirby, Hoylake, New Brighton and along the Dee at Heswall and Neston, cars live in salt air all year. Over time that shows up in the places you would expect: corroded connectors, green in a plug, earth points that are no longer a good earth, and sensor wiring that has quietly degraded. Those faults produce codes that point at the component rather than the connection, which is how people end up replacing a perfectly good sensor twice. It is worth checking the wiring before condemning the part.
We cover Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall, West Kirby, Hoylake, Bebington, Bromborough, Neston, Eastham and New Brighton, and travel to Ellesmere Port, Chester and into Liverpool where practical. See our areas we cover page for the full list or get in touch to confirm we can reach you.
We use dealer level equipment rather than a basic code reader, which means manufacturer specific codes across all the modules, not just the generic engine ones. Alongside the stored codes we look at live data and at the freeze frame the car saved at the moment the fault occurred, because that tells us the conditions it happened in. Then we explain what it means in plain terms and tell you whether it needs repair, further investigation, or simply clearing.
A lot of Wirral driving is over before an engine reaches full temperature, and some faults only exist in that window: things that appear from cold and vanish once warm, or the other way round. Those are the hardest to catch and we will be honest that they take longer. Freeze frame data from the moment the code stored usually tells us the temperature and conditions it happened in, which is often enough to point at the cause even when the fault refuses to repeat while we are standing there.
We also offer ECU remapping on the Wirral, Stage 1 remapping on the Wirral, DPF and EGR solutions on the Wirral, and AdBlue solutions on the Wirral.

Yes. Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall, West Kirby, Hoylake, Bebington, Bromborough, Neston, Eastham and New Brighton are all normal coverage for us.
Often, though it takes longer and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise. The stored freeze frame tells us what the engine was doing when the code appeared, and cold start only faults tend to point at a fairly short list.
That is a common pattern near the coast and it often means the sensor was reporting correctly and the problem is the wiring, a connector or an earth. Worth checking those properly before buying the same part again.
We connect to your vehicle's ECU and read stored fault codes and live data, along with the freeze frame saved when the fault occurred. We then explain what the codes mean and advise on whether the issue needs repair, clearing, or further investigation.
Yes. We read the codes that triggered the light and, more importantly, work out whether they point at the cause or at a consequence of something else. Get in touch and we will arrange a visit.
If a light has appeared or a fault has come back after a repair, get in touch and we will read it properly.
